Look Book: Red London Plaid

I love the big old traditional white homes in London. It makes me feel like I'm actually living in the Mary Poppins movie! I was over the moon when I spotted this statement plaid top in Zara. I think it's so quintessentially London and I love all the detailing with the pretty ruffles and velvet tie. Plaid is the fall fashion trend for 2015. The saying an "oldie but a goodie" perfectly describes bringing the plaid trend back! I can see this top being quite a versatile piece in my wardrobe. I could pair it with some denim jeans for a more causal look or even a leather pencil skirt for a night out with the girls.

Every girl needs a good pair of trousers and these have got to be the comfiest black trousers I have ever owned. Pleated with elasticated waist and tapered legs, they match perfectly with ballet flats.

High Tea at Sketch

If you read this blog regularly, you will already know that I absolutely love afternoon tea. It's quintessentially British and something you have to do if you come to London. While my Mum was over visiting from New Zealand I thought it would be to nice arrange a few close friends to join us and have "High Tea with Mumsie".

Look Book: White & Denim

I simply adore the Italian colours and the tiny little alleyways you can find in Venice! These made the perfect background for this 'Look Book'. It was 35 degrees on this day which meant sunglasses and a hat was a must have accessory. You can never underestimate the classic's! This combo has been worn for so many years and it is one combo that'll never get old. When it comes to summer style, denim shorts are so comfy and worn with a white shirt makes it an easy put to together and effortless look!

This was our first trip to Italy and we can't wait to go back already!

Duck & Waffle

I had been told by many people that we should visit the Duck & Waffle. We had heard so many amazing things about the food and views, particularly their brunch menu. Brunch is only served on Saturday and Sundays, which means it can get booked up quickly. I was super organised and made an advanced booking for a 10 o’clock Saturday brunch with good friends of ours. Oh my gosh! Duck and Waffle did not disappoint ~ Located on the 40th floor of Heron Tower in Shoreditch, Duck & Waffle is the highest restaurant in London and you get to look out over the whole city while you eat the most incredible food. The menu centres around duck, duck eggs and waffles unsurprisingly. We all ‘ooohed’ and ‘ahhhed’ as every dish was presented and how incredible everything tasted.

J&J in Venice

I've long dreamed of visiting this infamously romantic floating city. Venice is a city of tiny islands 118 to be exact connected my canals and bridges. There is seriously no other place like it in the world! While having Mum in London we really wanted to take her somewhere in Europe and this little floating city was at the top of our list. However you won't see her in many photo's because unlike her daughter she is not a fan of the camera...I did manage to get her in a few through!

Look book: Made in Chelsea

You know how sometimes you just walk into a store and see something and just know you have to have it? Such was the moment when I saw this skirt in Top Shop.....it wasn't a need, it was a must! How can I girl like me resist a midi skirt? And a striped midi skirt at that? Nope, Impossible! I paired this skirt with a plain black blouse and some strappy black wedges as the striped skirt makes such a statement itself. While mum was over visiting me from New Zealand I had planned a Mothers-Daughter day in Chelsea and I knew this outfit would be perfect outfit to wear.

Anniversary shoot in Paris

There are very precise times in life when I’ve thought to myself, pinch me is this really happening? Such was this moment in Paris.

If you have been following this blog, then you will know that Jake and I spent our first wedding anniversary apart. It's not exactly how I envisioned spending our anniversary with my hubby on the other side of the world in London! Although we were miles apart, he still made sure I was surrounded by friends and family who surprised me by dropping off flowers & gifts throughout the day! We decided since we didn't spend our wedding anniversary together that we would celebrate with a first wedding anniversary shoot.....in Paris!!! I know, a dream right?

J&J's Day trip to Brighton

Brighton is a cute little seaside town on the south coast of England which all of London flocks to when the sun comes out! Jake having visited Brighton before was the perfect tour guide! Brighton is only an hour by train from central London. Two minutes from Brighton's train station is "The Lanes". These narrow alleyways near the seafront are famous for it's brightly painted houses, cute antique shops and cafes. I could have stayed and wandered for hours but my stomach was telling me it needed replenishing.
