La Mamounia - Marrakech

We finished our trip to Morocco by being treated as royals for the day! You can’t visit Marrakech and not experience a Hammam or a spa! It’s basically compulsory! This mumma to be was ready for some pampering! I had booked us in for a spa day at La Mamounia Hotel which has one of the world’s most iconic spas.

This five star hotel is just a stone’s throw away from the Medina. As soon as you enter you are transported into a private oasis of peace and tranquility, full of lush architecture, sparkling fountains, beautiful gardens and fine dining…. But, thanks to Instagram, It was the spa that first caught my eye. I have been dying to visit this hotel! I get a lot of my travel inspiration through the help of social media. It really inspires me and gives me a good and honest impression.

No argument here, this is one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever seen. It has a luxurious vibe and beautiful Moroccan décor. One of my favorite spots in the hotel was this mosaic courtyard with white columns and beautiful mosaic titles. You really can’t walk past without doing a few spins! As a blogger, it was the perfect hotel for any and all Instagram worthy moments.

I decided to take a few pictures of this gorgeous watch sent to me by Time Chain which is Storm London's sister brand. This gorgeous time piece is from their latest collection called Ice. The watch photographed beautifully against the mosaic titles. Time Chain’s minimal design features a colour palette of rose gold and silver placed on leather and stainless steel mesh...perfect for both men and women.

This spa is Instagram famous for good reason! The stunning day bed was surrounded by beautiful mosaic tiles, clusters of columns and beautiful Moroccan lanterns. In real life, this is even more beautiful than the pictures and I was instantly in awe. It's truly a work of art! We spent a considerable amount of time relaxing on the loungers and taking a dip in this iconic pool to unwind after enjoying a hour long couples massage. The Spa offers an extensive spa menu with all kinds of treatments, massages and aroma therapies for couples.

We also enjoyed a three course a la carte lunch at the exquisite L'italien. It was the best meal we had in Marrakech and we loved sitting in the courtyard listen to the birds. Our favourite dish was the strawberry soup. Yes, you heard right strawberry soup! Two words, life changing! Our waiter told us it was a must order as it was strawberry season. Honestly it was mouth watering and we still go on about how good it was!

After lunch we recovered from our delicious lunch by relaxing in the sun and getting a tan by the gigantic outdoor pool. We also explored some of the hotel's famous seventeen acres of gated gardens! The grounds are sprawling with gorgeous colours of exploding flowers and greenery. Perfect for an evening stroll.

The hotel was originally built as a palace for the king's son, Mamoun. No wonder we were feeling like royalty in this place! As you can imagine, its price tag is also worthy of royalty, so instead of staying at the hotel we brought a much more reasonable day pass which included access to all the facilities, a 60 minute spa treatment and also lunch in one of their restaurants.

La Mamounia turned out to be probably one of the most beautiful hotels I had ever set foot in and embodies every Moroccan fantasy and daydream you've every had - and then some.

  1. This trip looks idyllic! My partner and I are thinking of taking a similar one this September in my 28th week of pregnancy. I was wondering if you felt that the desert was too hot and uncomfortable during pregnancy. I'm worried that the sun will make it unbearable. Any tips are appreciated! Thank you!
