Dreamscape Glamping

I hope you can keep a secret because I’m about to give away one of New Zealand’s best travel ideas. Are you ready?

Glamping! And there's nowhere better to do it than New Zealand. You may have heard of it before but for those who haven't…Glamping (also known as luxury camping or glamorous camping) is that escape you've been meaning to take. It's that little break from the hustle and bustle but, with all the modern conveniences!

We decided to celebrate our sixth wedding anniversary at Dreamscape Glamping just down the road from where we actually said our I do’s. The perfect way to celebrate as Jake loves to camp and I got my touch of luxury with the compromise of glamping. A win-win if you ask me!

We arrived with big smiles on our faces, looking forward to calling this place home for the next few nights.

Our canvas tent was beautifully designed with traditional Moroccan cushions along with a huge king size bed with luxurious 100% flax linen sheets.

We loved the little touches like personalised welcome name cards next to the bed, along with providing us with some free range eggs fresh from her own chickens for our breakfast.

Dreamscape glamping is conveniently located just over an hour away from Wellington in Waikanae. Situated in a dreamy little spot, complete with views overlooking Kapiti Island.

Jake quickly made himself at home.

For dinner we decided to make use of the outdoor wood oven and make some yummy homemade pizza! Included in our stay was some pizza dough bases and homemade tomato paste. It was these little touches that really made our stay at Dreamscape glamping special. However, if you wanted to whip up something else for dinner there is a full kitchenette inside with a microwave and a dishwasher! That's right, no need to do the dishes when your glamping!

Dreamscape Glamping is positioned above the ocean with an incredible view. The perfect place to watch the sun rise and set on a new day, made even more magical with not one but two outdoor baths!

Big enough for the whole family to jump in!

It was truly beautiful watching the sun go down, the fairy lights above flicker and the stars start to appear. Complete privacy where you can truly relax with nothing but the sound of the ocean in the background.

In the morning the tent itself seemed to levitate as it starts to glow from the morning sun and the gorgeous sounds of birdlife. Tuis, fantails and morepork abound.

Jake whipped up one of his famous breakfast boards! We love a pancake board, cheese board, salad board.....pretty much any meal that can be constructed at the table to everyones personal preference! We can now add a bagel board to our list! The best part? Its all one one dish so there's very little clean up!

It wouldn’t be ‘Glamping’ without a fully functional bathroom! We had the luxury of a hot shower and loo whilst being at one with nature.

There's loads to do in Waikanae as its well known for its adventure and views. The camp is located close by to the ever so popular walking Te Au Track which offers panoramic views of the Waikanae Estuary and Kapiti Island. You can also head down to Waikanae beach which is a great place to take a quick dip in during the hot summer days. If you don't feel like cooking yourself then Salt and Wood Boutique Brewery or Long Beach Tavern are two places that I would recommend you grab a bite to eat.

Or like us you can just stay and relax making use of our own private bar! Jake whipped us up some yummy cocktails while I made us a platter of nibbles to share while Arlo had his afternoon nap.

Dreamscape Glamping is the perfect place for a getaway, whether it's to celebrate an anniversary, for your babymoon, mini moon, or even a proposal! There is even a beautiful glass chapel located near the glamping site. Did I mention that the owner, Lisa is also a celebrant?...Making Dreamscape Glamping the perfect location for an elopement!

Later that evening we made use of the outdoor wood oven again. Pizza making and cooking them in the outdoor pizza oven was great fun.

Even Arlo got involved sprinkling the cheese on top.

It had been drizzling on and off on our last day. But finally cleared up in the afternoon, thankfully as it's not 'Glamping' without making some S'mores! We lit up the fire pit and roasted some marshmallows above the open fire before putting them between chocolate digestive biscuits to make S'mores.

I would highly recommend a stay at Dreamscape Glamping for those who want to experience New Zealand’s sublime natural beauty in a luxury setting in the Kapiti Coast. You can’t go wrong with this secret treasure! It's hard to imagine a better place to relax, unwind, and recharge your batteries.

Thank you for having us Dreamscape Glamping! We can’t wait to come back again soon x

Our stay at Dreamscape Glamping was gifted for a review. All opinions are honest and my own.
