Spring is here!! Which means, picnic season has arrived! Picnics are seriously one of my favourite things to do, whether it’s catching up with your besties, a romantic date, a family picnic… or in this case to celebrate my birthday! Picnics are the perfect way to spend time catching up while digging into some great food, vino, and making new memories! And what better way to do so than with Bohemian Nights, Wairarapa’s luxury picnic event stylist!

I love having my birthday in Spring. It’s my favourite time of year. The weather finally turns warmer, but it’s not too hot. The days get longer and nights get shorter and the flowers bloom, including my favourite…cherry blossoms! We have an abundance of incredible locations for picnics to choose from and we feel pretty blessed to call the Wairarapa our home.
You can find this cherry blossom garden at Featherston’s, Sakura Peace Garden. It's full of cherry trees and right at the start of October you can find them in full bloom! It made the perfect backdrop for this luxury birthday picnic.
Mandy, the owner and picnic stylist from Bohemian Nights has seriously thought about everything. I loved all the little touches, from little cherry blossom flowers in the ice, the thoughtful personalised chalkboard message to a basket full of children's toys! The part I loved most was everything was set up and done and all we had to do was turn up! It took the stress out of organising anything.
You can choose from a range of different themes. This design theme was called Neutral Moon however, Bohemian Nights has a range of different themes to choose from to suit your style. The set up was so comfy and stylish with oversized cushions and cosy blankets provided in a basket to keep us warm if we got cold. They also provided a portable speaker to play music through to really set the mood (even if your kids requested the baby shark song!).
You can also add on different food and drink packages. Nothing says a posh picnic than a glass of sparkling bubbles! Mandy provided us with some sparkling grape juice so the kids could feel included in the celebrations. It wouldn't be a luxury picnic without some sweet treats? We had a beautiful vintage frill birthday cake from The Cake Lab and some sweets and pastries from another one of our local favourites, Claireville Bakery!
As you can see the kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves and taste tested everything!
After our bellies were full we enjoyed a glass of bubbles on a separate set up to the side where we could sit back and relax while we watched the kids as they played with the toys provided and watched them running around under the blossoms.
It was the perfect way to celebrate my birthday…just relaxing in nature, surrounded by blossoms, enjoying yummy food in style. A big thank you to Bohemian Nights for choosing to work with us for this collaboration and making this an unforgettable day!
