J&J in Croatia: Part 2 ~ Split

It was time to hit the road in this bad boy! We headed further north and made our way to Split from Dubrovnik. The coastal road is one of the top 10 drives to take in the world. At nearly every bend we came around, we were greeted with another gorgeous secluded bay which meant there were also a lot of photo stops along the way.

I love this causal summer outfit, which was comfy to travel in the car, as well as hopping out to explore and walk around the little bays. This season is all about the long waistcoat which is very versatile and the perfect addition to any outfit.

Split is the second largest city in Croatia and is known for its stunning Roman ruins and the perfect place to depart from to explore the islands. We arrived in the evening and made a beeline straight to the Riviera which had beautiful palm trees all lined up along the seafront. A great place to people watch and see cute little boats bobbing around in the water.

With a table over looking the waterfront at Brassier 7, we absolutely loved our first dinner in Split. With it's lovely fresh décor, the experience was nothing short of amazing. Our waiter was charming and great at helping us decide on what to order. Everything we ordered was amazing and was matched with a large selection of beverages. I would highly recommend visiting Brasserie 7 for anyone visiting Split. We loved this place so much that we ate their not once, or twice but three times on our trip!

Cocktail time! The perfect location for a few of their yummy cocktails while people watching and seeing the sun set.

The white tomato soup with truffles was jaw dropping good. Rachel even said "One of the best meals of her life!"

I had the home made parrardelle with herb & almond home made pesto, prawns and semidried tomatoes.

Good morning!!! We were up bright and early the next day to explore as much of Split as we could. We walked along the Rivera again and of course stopped into our favourite restaurant along the way.

A perfect outfit for a day spent out in the sun. I kept it casual with denim shorts and strappy sandals which was perfect for walking around and exploring. I found this beautiful lace off the shoulder top just before we left for out trip. It’s an easy piece to cover up a swimsuit or wear out and about! I paired this outfit with my favourite straw hat another must have summer fashion accessory this season.

For breakfast, Jake had the eggs benedict while I opted for their two tier Brassier breakfast which included a omelette with asparagus & fresh goats cheese & Cinnamon French toast with ricotta, caramelised banana & maple syrup....You can see why we kept coming back to Brassier 7

Our two travel companions Rachel & Sam all ready for a day of exploring!

After breakfast we headed to Diocletian's Palace which is the best preserved Roman palace in the world. It's a UNESCO world heritage site. As the Romans abandoned it, people moved in and never left. It is now full of shops, houses, restaurants, churches and squares. We spent the rest of the morning wondering around the cobble stone streets.

Since we hired a car, we were able to explore Croatia at our leisure and made our way to Krka National Park. We arrived in the afternoon and we were in awe. The water was so insanely clear and beautiful.

Everywhere you turned you were surrounded by mother nature, from blue dragonflies...

To beautiful swans....

To little fishies, literally swimming right under your feet!

The best view by far was Krka National Park’s main attraction, the spectacular Skradinski Buk waterfall. This huge waterfall flows into a natural pool right and is the perfect spot for a swim.

Swimming in Krka National Park is a real delight, especially on a hot summer’s day. The water is so inviting and is incredibly clean and amazingly refreshing!

Our next day was totally a highlight of our trip.....I can't wait to share the next part of our adventure with you!
