J&J in Croatia: Part 5 ~ Plitvice Lakes National Park

While researching our trip to Croatia, I came across photo's of the Plitvice Lakes National Park and instantly knew we had to go! It has been called Europe's most stunning park. The park is made up of sixteen lakes that are connected by a series of spectacular waterfalls and surrounded by beautiful woodlands.

As soon as we entered the park I felt like I had entered the ultimate fairy tale destination with its crystal clear blue waters and rushing waterfalls. The lakes were amazing and the water constantly changed from shades of turquoise, grey, teal and deep blue. The water changes shades due to the quantity of minerals and organisms in the water. You can see why this park is a UNESCO world heritage site!

I loved walking around the park taking in all the views. Every time you walked around a corner you seemed to be greeted with another waterfall! A lot of the walk ways were made with wooden planks nailed together to form a pathway. Some of the pathways were suspended over the water and made you feel like you were literally walking on water!

The water was insanely clear that you could plainly see all the fishes!

Everyone always say's you need a little black dress…well I think every wardrobe should have a little white dress too! Especially since “all white” is a fashion staple this summer. Get in quick as this one is currently on sale and will sell out fast...

Plitvice Lakes National Park is another absolute highlight from our trip to Croatia! I wish I could describe the feeling, the smells and the beauty of mother nature. It is truly a stunningly beautiful heritage park that you must visit. I am so happy we got the chance to enjoy this magical place!
