Yearly recap: 2021 Happy New Year!

Is it just me or are the years going faster?! I feel like the older I get the faster they go. Every year we reminisce and look at where we are now, what we've learnt, the places we have explored, the memories we have made and the many things that we have celebrated over this time. I must admit that 2021 was a challenging year for us. We went through a lot and I’m so proud of us for coming out the other side of it stronger. It's been a year of growth, learning, connecting and creativity for us. We managed to squeeze so much in!

As always, I wanted to share a little round up of the year that was. We also use this time of year to do some family photos. This year we headed to Greytown where you can find beautiful country roads like this one, adorned in greenery. We finished up at Waiohine river so Arlo could do some pebble skimming or more like rock throwing in his case.

The Wairarapa continues to be an amazing home for us. We still have a never-ending list of places to explore but we managed to tick off a lot this year including Puhaka National Park and share a blog on all our favourite places in the Wairarapa to go for family walks.

We also celebrated the 30th of June with a ceremony exchanging family Pounamu to remember the baby we lost. I will never be able to hold that baby in my arms, but I will be able to wear this taonga to always remember them forever. Now we all have matching family pounamu with special meaning behind it, with a baby that will never be forgotten.

We did a lot more travel around New Zealand including a trip away with my Mum and my first holiday away from Arlo to Queenstown and the Milford Sounds. We celebrated Arlos third birthday with a family trip to Ruapehu to have some fun in the snow. Along with ticking off a few more amazing glamping places around New Zealand, including Te Awa Glamping and Tatapouri Bay.

Looking forward to 2022 and continuing to document our memories and share our adventures with you all x
