J&J in Dubai

We have been so consumed in baby world that we forgot to share with you our second part of our UAE stay! Hope you enjoy this post when Arlo was just a bump in Dubai, we have actually flown through this city countless of times. We were so excited and finally take the time to explore this place and enjoy where people flock too to enjoy the sunshine, It was also so nice to take a nice long break from flying home to New Zealand as it can be an extremely long flight from London and even more so when pregnant and a perfect excuse for a second babymoon!

We stayed at the Shangri-La Dubai which has the perfect location right in the heart of the city. It has one of the best views of the Burj Khalifa, Even our room had a full view of the Burj Khalifa! We loved hanging out on their rooftop pool. It was quite hot while we were visiting and got up to 40 degrees so we started and ended our days cooling off by the pool.

We also got upgraded to their Horizon Club which meant we could indulge in breakfast and evening canapes and drinks. Not to mentioned their private lounge which has access to a private indoor infinity pool. Shangri-La also has a complimentary shuttle that goes to and from Dubai Mall, which definitely makes it easier to get around.

If you're looking for a place to stay in Dubai, Shangri-La Dubai is definitely one of the most incredible options out there!

On our first night in Dubai we had dinner at Thiptara, a Thai restaurant situated in Palace Downtown. Here is where you can watch the fountain show from the best seats whilst enjoying a fabulous dinner! Jake hates crowds and the crowds at the fountain show can get very busy. Finding a good spot can be challenging, as everyone tries for that prime spot. The fountain show itself was incredible. It occurs every half an hour from 6pm on wards and we had the perfect view from our table. We were so happy we found this place! We enjoyed a lovely dinner eating and chatting away while the fountains burst to life, dancing in time with the music.

Once back at our hotel the lights had lit up Dubai and we were greeted to this amazing view from out very own hotel room.

The next day we were up bright and early to explore Dubai Mall. This is situated right next to the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world! The mall is huge! If you spent an entire day here it still isn’t enough to see it all! This mall has a ice rink, an indoor theme park and an aquarium! We were here for one thing in particular, the Cheesecake Factory. We visited the Cheesecake Factory for the first time on our trip to LA and honestly, they do the best cheesecakes in the world! If you have tried this place then you know exactly what I mean. If you haven’t then you need to experience this heavenly place on earth! My favourite is their snickers cheesecake!

On our last day we headed to Madinat Jumeirah Resort. This resort literally has everything!! Traditional Souks for shopping, 50 world class restaurants, private beaches, water parks, you name it, it was there! We had lunch at Black Tap which is situated inside the Madinat Jumeirah Resort. This place is famous for their milkshakes which are nearly too pretty to drink and totally instagramable!  In the afternoon we headed to their private two kilometer beach and relaxed with a tantalizing view of the Burj Al Arab, the only 6 star hotel in the world! Talk about a beach with a view!

This fascinating city was the perfect stop over between London and NZ... We only spent a few days in Dubai knowing there was so much more to explore and experience...so...this definitely won’t be our last visit!
