Letter to my daughter

To my daughter,

Before you even entered the world, you were so wanted. Now that I can feel you in my tummy, those feelings have multiplied tenfold. I can't wait to rest your tiny head on my chest.

J&J Baby Sprinkle

We decided this time around we wanted to have a more intimate event with those closest to us. Instead of a traditional big baby shower, we decided to have a sprinkle staycation instead!

We invited a small selection of our friends that are more like family to us to come and spend the weekend at Stony Bay Lodge. The Stony Bay Lodge is a big holiday house out the back of Martinborough on the Tora Coast overlooking the ocean. This worked out perfectly as it meant that our friends that don't live in the Wairarapa could come and make a weekend of it with us!

Hospital Bag

I can’t believe we’re already packing a hospital bag! Feeling like this pregnancy flew by. We’re soaking up these last few weeks before welcoming our daughter into our arms. I thrive on being organised and like to have my hospital bag packed well in advance. Because, let's face it there is not a lot in your control around pregnancy and birth but, having my bags packed makes me feel a little more in control and ready.

As a second time around mum, I feel like I know exactly what I will need as I learnt from last time what was practical and useful. I have mainly included the essentials, but also some items that I wish I had packed the first-time round. I have also had a lot of recommendations from other mums. If you're pregnant I really hope this post gives all you mums-to-be some inspiration, as it can be hard to know where to start and there is a lot of information out there on what you won’t/will need to take with you.

J&J Coromandel ~ Part Two

Our final destination, of course we had to finish this babymoon on a high and booked two nights at Coromandels Luxury Escapes Glamping, which you can find tucked away on the edge of Matarangi Harbour. This secluded tent sits on the edge of a farm, with views of the harbour and Coromandel Ranges. The main safari-style tent has a king sized bed along with a couch that you can turn into another bed if you have children. A detached cabin is home to an amazing bathroom, complete with a luxury freestanding bath overlooking the amazing view.

J&J Coromandel

A road trip along the Coromandel Peninsula has got to be one of the best scenic drives in New Zealand. From its pristine golden beaches, secluded bays, misty rainforests, beautiful waterfalls and cliffside views it makes it an ideal destination for a Summer escape. Just an hour and a half drive from Auckland, a Coromandel road trip is an absolute must do when exploring New Zealand’s North island.
